The author of this book is the world’s best children’s book author, Roald Dahl.

I have done another blog on a book by Roald Dahl which you can read here.

Roald Dahl had multiple qualities: he was a spy, an ace fighter pilot, a chocolate historian and a medical inventor!

The characters in this book are: Charlie Bucket, Charlie’s family (including 4 grandparents and 2 parents), Mr Willy Wonka (the owner of the world’s largest chocolate factory), Veruca Salt, Augustus Gloop, Mike Teavee, Violet Beauregarde and the Oompa Loompas.

Charlie is a poor boy, who lives in a wooden house with six grownups all sleeping in one bed! Poor little Charlie sleeps on the floor.

Charlie finds out about the 5 golden tickets hidden in chocolate bars around the world. 4 of the tickets have already been found. He became desperate to find the last ticket for himself as the ticket would let him go into Mr Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

Going into the factory was once in a lifetime chance as no one had ever gone in before. One snowy day, he found his chance. While he was walking on the cold ground, he saw a whole 50 pence coin! Immediately, he seized his chance. He ran to the nearest chocolate shop and quickly bought two bars of chocolate. The first bar had nothing, but the second bar of chocolate had the ticket! He ran home super fast. The day after was even better because it was the day they were going into the factory. It was amazing!

My favourite part about the book is that even though Charlie is poor, he would never give up and find any chance he got and seized that chance to get some chocolate. After a couple of tries he did it and found the ticket!

The story tells me that even if you have no chance of getting what you want, still try and do it because a miracle might happen.
