The author of this book is Robert Louis Stevenson.

I got this book in 2021. At the time it was marked as one of the ‘Scholastic Classics’. After reading this book, I understood why it was chosen as a Scholastic Classic. The detail, imagery, cliffhangers, all these kind of things helped this book to be classified as a ‘classic’.

What I really liked about this book was the mysterious endings to each chapter. It would always engage me to read on, and I would never get bored of it. It always made me think at the end of the day: “What’s going to happen next?! I'm so eager to find out tomorrow!”

To be honest, I think that this book was for children who were a bit older than me. I found a lot of the words confusing, and since this book was about pirates, it had words and phrases that I couldn’t understand. Such as, ye/ya (referring to a person), ‘said I’ (a different way of saying ‘I said’), etc.

I did some research about classics after this book, and I found out that Classic books are not what I mentioned before. A classic book is actually a book that has been around for a long time and it is noteworthy and is a pleasure to read to any person, no matter how old they are. Take Treasure Island, for example. This book was first published in 1883! That was a long time ago!
