The author of this one-of-a-kind book is J.K Rowling. The illustrator is Jim Field.

Most of you would know J.K Rowling for writing the Harry Potter series. To be fair, I myself have only read the first Harry Potter book although I have watched all the movies!

This is an adventure story, about Jack (the main character) losing his favourite toy of all time, Dur Pig, (a.k.a DP). Dur Pig was named because when Jack was little and had just started to talk, he couldn’t say ‘the pig’. He could only say ‘dur pig’. Dur Pig often got lost. There was one time though when he got lost and Jack couldn’t find him. That was the worst day of Jack’s life. Luckily, later that night it was Christmas Eve. A night for miracles and lost causes and the night when all ‘Things’ wake up. Later that night, Dur Pig’s annoying replacement, ‘The Christmas Pig’ and Jack set out on an Adventure to find DP. Who knows what they’ll encounter on the trip…

I really liked the illustrations in this book. There weren’t many, but the ones that were there were AMAZING. Jim Field put in so much detail into the book. The illustrations were in black and white. I would look at them and imagine the picture coming to life. The pictures sure did help me create a wonderful image in my mind!

I loved this book so much that I just HAD to do a blog on it!

See you at my next one!
