Today I am writing a blog about a biography of a man called Patrick White.

This book is about Patrick White’s life.

Patrick White was born on the 28th of May 1912 in London.

Toni Brisland is the author of this book.

Patrick White is the best Australian author because he is the only Australian to win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1973 which is the top prize in the world for writing novels.

The Nobel Prize is named after the Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel who invented Dynamite.

Patrick White has written quite a lot of books including Voss, Happy Valley, Riders in the chariot and many more.

He died on 30th September 1990. I calculated that he would have been 78 years old then.

I found 3 very intresting things about me and Patrick:

  1. He was born exactly 100 years before me.
  2. He also had asthma just like me. Although he developed asthma at the age of 4 and mine was at age 6.
  3. There was a Patrick White Exhibition organised in Canberra in April 2012, which later moved to Sydney exactly when I was born! (which is in August 2012.)

I found reading the book that Patrick White has also written an autobiography called ‘Flaws in the Glass’. I want to read this book when I grow up! Have you read it?
